When you proposed to your partner (or were proposed to) and accepted, how long did the commotion go on for? If you were a spectator, I was wondering did it get awkward after a certain amount of time? I can just imagine it being such a big deal and no one knowing when to stop the congratulations. Anyway any thoughts/stories would be good :) ThanksWhat happens straight after a marriage proposal?
that's a very personal thing and I don't think that question shouldn't be asked in front of a lot of other people. you don't want to put the girl in the tricky situation of having to say yes because there are tons of family and friends around. if she has any doubts at all, and you ask her in private, you can talk it out before she says yes or no.What happens straight after a marriage proposal?
We didn't have any commotion. Both of our parents thought we were stupid for getting engaged so young so we had some obligatory congratulations and that was it. When we said that we had set the day for the wedding is when we started to get more of a commotion for the wedding. I think that most of our commotion will come around the time of the wedding but nothing really after the initial engagement.
People can continue giving congrats until the day you wed and even after that you will get congrats.
I wouldn't tell someone more than once congrats though. Just that one time when I find out and then that's it.
None of my family or his family made a big deal about it.
it was done in private
