F money can't buy love, the why do people buy these expensive marriage rings and expensive weddings?

Like, a future husband will buy an expensive ring 4 her future wife and pay 4 an BIG wedding.

And about 96% of the tyme those marriages don't even last long.

Why can't couples can jus be simple and jus get a ring that's REALLY worth something in the inside than jus or havin an enormous price tag and having a simple wedding than big weddings.F money can't buy love, the why do people buy these expensive marriage rings and expensive weddings?
The wedding ring thing is a tradition, but there is no rule that you have to have rings to be married (or a big expensive wedding) All you need is a marriage certificate. Money doesn't buy love. People just like to celebrate there love with these things that usually happen to cost a lot of money. The couples feelings on these things or value for tradition will determine how they will celebrate their marriage. There is no wrong or right way.F money can't buy love, the why do people buy these expensive marriage rings and expensive weddings?
They are already in love with they buy the weddings rings so it has nothing to do with money buying love.

The history of engagement rings are,

In the earlier years, I'm not quite sure exactly when 1800 or earlier, men would buy their wives expensive engagement rings as an insurance policy or savings account. In case anything happened to the men (death), their wives could sell the engagement ring and have some means of support for their family, since women didn't work.

I guess it's just kind of stuck.
Number one foo..

Money is not everything its the love that matters

and in myy oppinion a piece of silver or gold should not have to be expensive to insinuate that you ******* love the god damn person this question personally pisses me off cause not everything is about money be happy with what you have... gum ball rings will work for me as long as i am with the one and only true person i will love forever!

I'm not tripping out or anything just saying. :]]
It's Money Over Everything..

That's the way its taught..

What is your opinion of the former Miss California's opinion concerning gay marriage?

What is your opinion of President Barack Obama's opinion concerning gay marriage? What is your opinion of the former Miss California's opinion concerning gay marriage?
I agree wth him

its just an opinion

let the nation decide

not the gay judgeWhat is your opinion of the former Miss California's opinion concerning gay marriage?
I think it was tacky. America is a land of free speech, and I fully support her rights to express her opinion. I respect that she did not lie.

But she should realize that she has offended many people. Let's switch it up by fourty years; what if she had said she was against blacks and whites getting married? It is her opinion, and her religious beleif, and she is entitled to it, but would that have embraced the American dream of life liberty and the pursuit of happiness for all people?

And while I wish Obama was more supportive, I think he has the strength of character to do what is right, no matter his personal opinion.
if she said it was wrong , she was right

ask any parent of a new born child if they wished and hoped that their new born grows up to be gay the vast majority will say no---- the rest are in denial--- therefore her opinion is correct and should be congratulated
Former Miss California has a right to her own opinion and I don't agree with them. But she needs to go away now and stop telling everyone about her problems. No one cares. Her 30 seconds of fame are way over. Kick rocks FORMER Miss California.
i think everyone should believe what they want to believe.

I think it's true she lost because of that question - which sucks because now it's 'wrong' to believe what we want to... =\ and now we have to be politically correct.
We live in the United States of America. the greatest country in the world! In this country we believe in freedom of speech. For her to get her title taken away b/c of what she said makes me sick.
About the same as the banning of gay marriages by that state - brutal.
She's not Miss California anymore, so her opinion is irrelevant.
I agree with Obama. And I think it should be illegal though to take her crown away just becuase she had an opinion. This is America we have freedom of speech!
fun fact: the former miss california is my elementary school teacher's daughter!
I think everyone is entitled to their own opinion and at least she didnt lie.

I think she should have kept her crown.
Her opinion counts for nothing
Mr Trump. needs to reinstate her . Long Live Marriage Adam and Eve style no Adam and Steve
she can think what she wants.
who is she, does nt say much for her views.

How did the 'moral values' of government employees including the elimination of traditional marriage structure?

contribute to the legitimacy via legislation passage of multiple spouses and children from various women--via government agencies supervision

?How did the 'moral values' of government employees including the elimination of traditional marriage structure?
are asking us to do your homework for you? or maybe a take home test? How did the 'moral values' of government employees including the elimination of traditional marriage structure?
Our government bureaucracy is filled with products of

the multi-generational governmental public housing / welfare system which has little / no values attached to marriage

and children from married two parent families.
you are refering to paligamy, right?
Christ, this sounds like a question from the Bar Exam...

What does it mean to ';redefine marriage out of existence';?

Can someone explain to me what is meant by that argument against homosexual marriage, that ';redefining'; marriage would be ';redefining it out of existence';? What does that mean? How do you redefine something out of existence? I'm not saying I feel one way or the other, it's just that I keep hearing people use that phrase when they talk about how gay marriage shouldn't be legal, but I have no idea what that means. Can someone explain?

Again, I'm just asking, not taking either side... so don't label me a liberal, conservative, Christian, athiest or whatever. Just curious. What does it mean to ';redefine marriage out of existence';?
The last thing in this world I ever want to do is saddle someone with a label. We do not fit into nice, neat little packages...and it is such a heated topic; I feel brave just coming here. The only thing I can say is that when you give love; when you receive love...then you honor all that is good in life...and God doesn't care if you have a piece of paper to do it...or where you came from...or who you are...for your loving spirit will speak above all other voices.

I am very understanding of many things, I see both sides of the issue...and I prefer to remain neutral...but what they mean is that it threatens and challenges everything we perceive as marriage...mainly a traditional (and hopefully, loving) union between a man and woman...and it often includes the words...';in the eyes of God';...and it did not include any other concept of marriage. I hope this answers your question. What does it mean to ';redefine marriage out of existence';?
';Redefining {something} out of existence'; means that you have changed the meaning of the word so drastically that the perceived original meaning of the word is lost.

    The argument basically boils down to ';I can't defend my idea if that's what the word means. By agreeing to your interpretation of the word, then my position would be wrong.';

What are the penalties for gay marriage in places its illegal?

i cant find any info on the net for this, its for a legal studies assignment and its driving me insane.

also, what time of law is it? is it criminal or civil?

websites that gives you a good understanding of all the aspects, pros and cons of gay marriage and the law would be GREATLY appreciated!!!What are the penalties for gay marriage in places its illegal?
the only way to be legally married would be to do it in a state which still allows it. I believe Massachusetts, Connecticut, California among a few other states still allow gay marriages. What are the penalties for gay marriage in places its illegal?
If nobody asks, don't tell! It's none of anyone's business WHO you live with!! There is no law saying two people of the same genda can't live together! If you want to get married, go to a state where they allow it! Then go back home and get on with your lives! What puzzles me is this! Nothing is done about two people, male and female, living together without a marriage certificate (look how many movie stars are doing that right now!) and nobody says BOO! So what's the difference between them and two girls/boys doing the same thing!? The laws in this country are all screwed up! You are looking at 50 different sets of rules! I think there should be one set of Laws for everyone to follow!
It's just not recognized. You can have a ceremony but you cannot file it with the clerk. You will not get into trouble at all, it will just be ignored.
There's no penalty for it - the state just won't issue a licence and doesn't recognize the marriage as valid if the ceremony is performed.
There's no penalty for it, it's simply not recognized as a legal contract. Laws pertaining to marriage are civil laws.
how can they get married if it is illegal???

and if they do, i would just guess that the marriage was invalid, not recognized.
    Death by firing squad

I would like to wait until marriage to have sex and my boyfriend has been really patient and understanding but?

I feel really bad for him. Even though he hasn't pushed the issue, I feel like I'm being unfair and should break up with him even though we're in love. Is this enough grounds for a breakup?I would like to wait until marriage to have sex and my boyfriend has been really patient and understanding but?
If you love him, why consider breaking up? This makes no sense at all.

It's your right to wait as long as you feel you should. He should be OK with that. In the meantime, there are some things the two of you can do together that aren't sex, but which you'd both find enjoyable, if you're willing to consider some more limited forms of activity.I would like to wait until marriage to have sex and my boyfriend has been really patient and understanding but?
You are being paranoid about something that you shouldn't be. You are literally waiting for a conflict that isn't happening right now. If he is being patient and understanding, then stop expecting something bad to happen. It may have happened in your past, or you may have seen it happen to others. It doesn't mean that this guy will be like this. It isn't grounds to break up at all. Let me put it this way. My fiance has promised to be faithful to me at all times. If I believed he MAY cheat and break up with him based on my paranoia, I'm not being fair. You would be doing the same thing if you broke up with your boyfriend for what you think he MAY do in the future -- maybe -- sometime. Don't assume his actions and base your actions off that assumption before he even has a CHANCE to act.
No, don't break up with him. Why do you want to wait? Its really not as ';Special'; these days as it used to be. Would you buy a car without test driving it first. What if he is horrible? Extra small... tool..? But your married and then its kind of too late without having to get a divorce. Then you'll end up cheating on him and then you'll have a baby with him, cheat on him some more because he is horrible, then get a divorce.. you might as well test it out first.. then if it is good and you like everything.. then your good to go. But then you really won't have anything to compare it too, so you'll end up cheating on him anyways..

I would suggest sleeping with about 4 other guys, at least twice each, so you know how other guys are.. then you'll have something to compare it to. Everyone might think I'm a d*** or whatever, but I have been with several married girls that lost it to the guy they married and it just wasn't enough... Test drive before you buy!
No this isn't unfair! It is your body and you have every right to wait until marriage. That's actually a very good moral value. He loves you, and if you break up with him after he's waiting for you, that would be unfair. Stay with your guy, you've found a genuine one, and you are very lucky indeed.
If he's still with you and respects your decision, that's his choice. I don't understand why you're having an issue, unless you're having doubt about your own beliefs and choices. If he kept asking for sex or has been thinking about sex with another, that might be cause to discuss parting ways (because of different needs). But until then, stop worrying.
I ALWAYS say no to these questions. What if you get married and have sex and you don't like it. SURPRISE some women DON'T like sex. Also if the man is STUPID enought to marry a girl before he check's her out in bed, he may find that a sexually inexperienced female is NOT a good lay. Good sex is learned your not born with the ability to ';give'; great sex.
    yeah he shouldve broken up with you as soon as you said ';sex'; and ';marriage'; and ';wait.';

you dont have to break up with him, but if you have any sort of sympathy youd make sure he was happy. esp if hes going to stick with you and your uptighedness.
HELL NO, You have a real good man if he is waiting until you get married!!! I don't know any of my friends doing that, I'm 40. You would rather leave him than give a great man some sex. You will never have sex in your life because you probably won't ever find another real man like you have know!!!

    SWEETY,

    GO DO HIM!!!
This really isnt grounds for a breakup. Especially when he is being so understanding. Thats a very good quality in a guy and you would be stupid to let go of him. He is respecting your desicion and not pushing you. I would feel very lucky to have a guy like him.
You don't have to have sex with anyone, Until you are ready. If your bf understands that, then there's no problem. If he doesn't understand that and is trying to pressure you, then it's time to dump him. It's your life, your body, and your decision. Always.
wow! how do u want to break up with a guy who is actually waiting for u! do u know how many girls want that! anyways u shouldnt break up with him be thankful and if u dodnt want to have sex until u are married but feel bad then just mess around u know play sexually just not have sex
if it wasn't fair for him then he would complain

if he is fine then don't worry about it.

but i would advise you to tell him how you feel. it will help you feel better plus make him feel close to you.
of course not! It is absolutely ABSURD not to be married when you have sex. Don't brake up because of that, but if he thinks its okay to have it before marriage, there is a slight problem there.
No. If he is understanding, breaking up will only confuse him (and you)

Since you love each other, keep it that way...love is not sex, sex is not love
it depends how old you and the guy are. but you should really wait for marriage. i wish i did. and no dont breakup.
Um....well, that's completely up to you. If you want to wait, then wait. Dont let your ';i want to be a good girlfriend'; mindset set in. This is your body. Do what you choose.
The same thing is happening to me and i believeif he's willing to wait then he must really respect you.Dont brake up he trully loves you!
no...you've got a good man. keep him. he respects, loves, and cares about you. there's no reason to dump him over that.
No, If you want to wait and hes willing to wait with you then you should wait.
querida, there is absolutely no problem in your relationship. leave it alone.
if his willing to wait for you then he must really love you,you shouldnt break his heart.

  • How do I spice up my marriage life?

We are married for 18 years with 2 lovely kids. I have a good and responsible husband, but he is a boring man. Day in and out, we lead a very routine life and throughout these years I tried many ways to keep the candle burning. Now I am beginning to feel tired, and run out of ideas what to do to spice up our marriage life. Any suggestions? How do I spice up my marriage life?
every married couple land into same situation n posting such question I dont think will work out see what interests both of you in common, I may suggest you to buy a compute n sit sharing knowledge it may be good idea in my mind but it may not suit you coz we dont know ur financial positions is it not, so better try to find things that impress both of you or family but am sure if you buy a computer n sit on yahoo answers you will learn the world, improve knowledge, n how ppl share n kill time over here. try it it will work out.How do I spice up my marriage life?
Hi! I think i can think of somethings that may help you spice up your marriage. You think your husband is boring but have you thought about the reasons why he may have felt that way. Marriage is a lifetime commitment and both of you have the responsibility to make things work.

Maybe, you can try some tricks like an out of town date. Communication is the ultimate key to solve this problem of yours. While on a date maybe you can talk about the bf-gf stage you had with your husband. bring back some cherished memories. You can also try some tricks in bed, things that you both have not rried before. Hope I have helped you in my own lil way.
Yep. When you're in bed together and the lights are off, start talking about your fantasies. You don't have to actually act all of them out, especially if some make either of you uncomfortable, but talking about them can really get the juices flowing and it's easier if you start out in the dark. It's less embarrassing to start out that way. Eventually, you may find you have some of the same fantasies, and may even playact them out.
To spice up your married life? Sorry, but it's going to be up to you. For the rest of your married life. And there are plenty of things to spice up the marriage. Compared to other marriage problems, this is really a minor problem. Yes, you will have to keep on taking the initiative. Check out my ';source'; for ideas that work.
why dont u involve your daughter in this or son..also talkto your husband about going out for just couple vacation together every 6 months..etc......and dine out each weekend n talk nothing except you too.....sex is overrated iam sure that can happen at each night......
Ask him if he would prefer another woman or another man in your bed. You don't have to actually do it. But it might plant a very interesting seed in his head.
tell him to get creative with going out and reward him with sex
cheat on him that will wake him up !

Same-Sex marriage laws were overturned in the state of CA, meaning that Same-Sex marriage is approved and therefore, all gay couples are entitled to tie the knot as soon as they pass this law.

They can share in wedded bliss too ;)
    I do.
Yes, I believe in equal rights for all, not just some.
    Gays and Lesbians
I fully support same sex marriage. I have voted for it every single time it comes on the ballot. It'll win one day!
why should it matter if ur not the one getting married...you know what thats their decision if they love that person than they should get married to that person...I bet you theres a higher chance that gay or lesbian couples stay together and dont fight as much as maried (husband and wife) couples do. Yea if they adopt the kid might feel weird..but i guarentee that the kid is going to be happy that they are out of the adoption place...im bi myself..now i would never get married to the same sex bc my mom would kill me..but it would be my decsion. I think that if they really love that person than go for it...people may look at them weird and think they are crazy but they shouldnt care what other people think just about what the couple think themselves.
    I do.

    _()_
I support new legislation that would allow for same-sex marriage.

I do not support the court's misinterpreting already existing laws/constitutions, like what the Massachusetts Court did.
    I support same sex marriage
Why shouldn't we let them get married? That's what marriage is, two people who love each other, and the government shouldn't be able to control that. I don't know why it's such a big deal anyways. I mean, religious people might say it's defying God or something, but there's supposed to be a separation between church and state.
I'm fine with it-but it makes sense to take the moderate approach of legal partnerships. Maybe we could stop fighting about it!
I don't really support it but I am not the one getting married to another of the same sex. It's not up to me or the government to tell people who they can and can't get married to. Churches don't have to sanction these marriages but the government shouldn't stop them from civil marriages.
I do. Still not sure it should be called a marriage because of the argument that it is a sacrament between men %26amp; women. However, they should have the right to be legally, blissfully, or miserably bound togather, same as anyone.
Sure, people can love and be with whomever they want to be. Live and let live!
    I DO
I realy dont care who someone is with. Its their choice
    what ever floats your boat.

why should they not be allowed to show there love and respect for one another, its not hurting any one else i think the government should stay the hell out of it.
If the same sex really loves each other than it wouldn't matter some states are illegal.
No, Marriage is Husband and Wife. They want to live together fine, have a legal civil union fine. Marriage is already spoken for....
    i support it.

there are so many people that say that it shouldn't be done because it's against the bible but those searching to get married just want to be recognized as a couple that love eachother. it has nothing to do with the bible.
i do. first off im an atheist so i dont give two shits what God thinks of marriage, he's not getting married so why does it matter. i dont think people realize the little things such as partners not being able to file taxes together and what not. its a real pain in the *** for gays today. im not gay though, but my mom is and ive seen the trouble that they face.
No, and if I have say why, obviously you wouldn't understand.
I can see no good reason why civil authorities can deny same sex marriage. I have been to many same sex ';commitment'; ceremonies and I saw them as no different to a wedding. It is time that the law was changed.
Until a Man + Woman union can get it right, we have no RIGHT to tell anyone else that they don't even get the chance to get it right.

There's so much divorce and abuse in traditional marriages. I'm married and have a child.

I don't think that gays getting married hurts my relationship with my wife one bit.

Again, who are we to tell others they can't be married? As long as it's not hurting anyone, I say let them enjoy their lives together.

What's so great about man + woman anyway?
    I support it.

Sharing the misery shouldn't be limited by gender. :)
I support civil unions, I have some reservations about 'marriage' though. I will admit my belief about marriage is man and woman. I have no prejudice about it against gay people I have some gay friends and they know my position on it and understand.

Everyone should be able to have beneficiaries of benefits and estates. That I will say absolutely.
    I do
    I do
Who can it hurt ? More then half of all the marriage's in the U.S. fall to crap anyway.

What makes me laugh is when people say ';what a wonderful thing marriage is'; like its such a great institution. If there marriage is so strong, how can two people they don't even know, destroy it?
No that's some freaky stuff... people have a few screws loose. Maybe there Mama dropped them or something because all of that stuff is not normal.

Marriage is challenging and knowing you don't want to throw in the towel do you ever just?

take it to God and pray about it?

I am not a religious nut, but I do believe in God. ';Even though sometimes I do wonder why he has permitted so much bad in this world';, but that is besides the point.

With regard to marriage do you ever just take it to him through prayer, talking to him and asking for help?Marriage is challenging and knowing you don't want to throw in the towel do you ever just?
the 1st ten years then just gave up.

figured it wasnt meant to be

and i was just holding on to something that i'm suppose to let goMarriage is challenging and knowing you don't want to throw in the towel do you ever just?
YES, and I am far from a traditional religious sort. LOL I believe that my relationship w/ God is between he and I. But yes, there have been a few times in my 20+ year marriage that I have asked God to let us know what to do, or to let me know what to do- show me a sign. LOL Happily though, there have been hundreds of times that I have instead thanked him for the great husband I do have and a love that has never died despite the ever changing dynamics of a long marriage.
Yup. It works. Like I always try to tell my crazy Roman-Catholic mom, you don't have to be a religious nut to believe in God. These nuts fighting for what they believe in is what causes all these stupid wars in the first place. (Jihads, but the government won't tell you that.) In any case, praying can help. I know there is a God, I know it 'cause I've had some pretty weird things happen, for the better or the worse that somehow prepared me for stuff. Just ask him for guidance and if he doesn't want you to be with the dude, he'll split you up. If he thinks the dude is fine, he'll help you through the hard stuff. Either way, if it's not to better you it's to better someone. I wouldn't say he allows torture for no reason. Plus, talking to someone that always listens and doesn't mock you helps too. (:
I have been with my husband since I was fifteen and married him in my twenties. I often ask myself why did I not leave him. I asked God a many day to guide me down the right path. It is not easy but over the years I have grown with him and he with me. He is a changed man and God answered my prayers. But marriage takes patience honey, love, devotion and some self sacrificing. I had to learn when to be humble and when to stand up. When to just respect a decision and when to give my insight. We are very good now.
i think we have been given what we need intellectually when u say take it to him i view that as i sit down and take the responsibility to figure something out based on my morals and faith and beliefs in other words we know what's right and what's wrong.
Yes, and it helps a lot! (and He does have his reasons for all the bad happenings in the world- I wonder about that too sometime)

So if you're asking God for help you're doing the right thing
yes, a lot of times. getting married is easy, staying that way is a choice. and it does take work.
I think absolutely yes. Before as well as through out the marriage you should take it to him.

How long does the ideal ';starter marriage'; last?

How do you know when it's time to move on and find true love? How long does the ideal ';starter marriage'; last?
I mean, that's situational. I know they say it's about four years these days, but ';ideal'; Lol WHO CHOSES AN EARLY DIVORCE as the IDEAL??? I hope to marry forever, but if it truly is miserable, I believe within a year of whenever that absolutely excruciating pain, I will get out of that marriage. Life is short and I don't believe in self-abuse, so I'd leave, but only in the most extreme situation. How long does the ideal ';starter marriage'; last?
    When you want out.

When you feel no need to be in the relationship.

When you feel like the thought of that person touching you is repulsive.

When you find yourself flirting or talking to other guys.

When you feel no need to be a part of that person's life %26amp; you just don't care anymore. You know it's over %26amp; you just have to move on.

It's pretty cut %26amp; dry. You're either in it or not. There's no in between.

Life's too short to be unhappy or to be with a person you can't see yourself with long term... for whatever reason.
If only people would stop having starter marriages and wait for the real deal... we're in such hurries to get married and grow up, we make some really stupid mistakes!! If you're not married yet, take your time!! But to answer your question, my friend has been married twice and each was about 3 years...
The ideal marriage lasts until the honeymoon trip is over.
well, according to my sister-in-law about 3-4 days tops.
Hmm. Can you clarify a bit? I'd like to help you out on this one...but you're not giving us enough information.

What should we dress for the marriage in the government's office?

We want to get married in a courtroom, i want to wear a black suit, what is my wife supposed to dress? And, are we allowed to take pictures there? Do you know where i can find images of the courtroom? What should we dress for the marriage in the government's office?
My husband and I got married at a city hall room with just family. My husband wore a dark suit with a nice tie. My mom and I got this wedding dress from David's bridal store for me. Maybe your wife to be could go to the mall to look for a dress she would love to wear. It could be any color she likes. I think they would permit cameras as we had a photoghoter take pictures but call and ask. What should we dress for the marriage in the government's office?
I think it would be cute for her to still wear a white dress... even though its not a full gown
A nice white or off white suite.

But really, she can and should wear whatever she wants to.

Oh, and you probably won't find any pics of the court room for security reasons.
She could wear a nice dress suitable for daytime wearing or go retro with a wonderful suit as well, with a skirt, jacket and wonderful blouse.
A nice dress-think something a mother of the bride would wear in a fancy ceremony, just age appropriate. Just make sure you dont wear a suit and she wears a sundress type thing. Most courtrooms have a little area set up for weddings with a little arch and you can take pictures. You can go to your local government website to find pictures but they generally will not have the pictures you are looking for. Since you have to buy the license in advance go there and where you buy the license is where they marry you. Its in the same office they just have a space if you want to take pictures and for the ceremony. So look when you are there.

Should I tell my girlfriend that I have 3 kids by a previous marriage?

I figure it doesn't really matter that much since I don't have any contact with them (to be totally honest with you, my ex-wife doesn't even know where I am so I don't even have to pay child support). Is it okay to just not tell her, or will she find out eventually? Would she be mad if she found out after we were married?Should I tell my girlfriend that I have 3 kids by a previous marriage?
Yes you should tell, especially if you think things could get serious.Should I tell my girlfriend that I have 3 kids by a previous marriage?
Should you need her, No...Heck yes you should have been told her. Some woman don't date men with children (vice versa), and nobody deserves to be lied to about the status of their lives.

Regardless if you are in the same country, city, state, whatever, those are your children. Why are you hiding them? Because you don't want to pay child support. And for this very reason, your current girlfriend needs to know what type of person you are.

This is going to Bite you in the A**, and it should! Everything should be on the table by the third date. Because after two, that person is interested. Why waste your time with a loser for a third and fourth date!

    Tell her!
As a parent (whether you are involved with them or not), you have a duty to tell your current partner about your children. First of all, she will eventually find out, and if she is that into you, it shouldn't matter to her if you have children. Children are the most precious gift that can be given to someone, and you shouldn't take that for granted by trying to hide the fact that you have 3! Feel blessed to have been so lucky.
Ummm YEAH!!! who wouldn't be mad if they found that out about any partner? That is a huge thing to not tell about, unless you really are not serious at all with this person.....but if you want long term........think about it this way. It is very reasonable for them to think WOW he didn't tell me about this what else hasn't he told me about? And there you would loose any trust you might of had. But seeing that you are just backwards enough to hide out so you don't have to help your own children! I would hope that shines through enough to have any self respecting woman leaving you alone.
ya, i think that is something you might want to tell her. But if i were you i would leave out some of the details you mentioned to us because it really shows that you are a super crappy guy. She would be pissed if she found out if you did not tell her and i am guessing she would leave you if she found out after you got married...i sure as hell would! Wow, what an amazing guy to not even give a flying F about your kids...please do the world a favor and go sterilize yourself...please! oh ya..and if your ex ever finds you...you are going to be super screwed, ever think of moving to Kuala Lumpur?
    yea u should

What are deal breakers in a marriage?

What are reasons to leave a marriage and what are reasons to stay even though its not easy? What are deal breakers in a marriage?
Rules anything else you can work through.

    1. NO HITTING. (this includes all forms of abuse)

    2. NO LYING. (small white lies are acceptable. example: ';No, I don't know what your best friend is getting you for your birthday.'; When in fact you helped his best friend pick it out.)

    3. NO CHEATING. (Physical and/or emotional.)

    4. NO STEALING.

Times get tough but true commitment sticks it out. But even true commitment knows when to cut and run. (If your spouse is beating you then taking all the family money to buy prostitutes and crack cocaine. It's time to leave.)What are deal breakers in a marriage?
Cheating. How could you ever trust your spouse again?

Abuse. Yeah, an abuser might change someday, but do you want to bet your kids on it?

Reasons to stay even though it's not easy:

When one spouse is very sick. Some people take out their pain and fear on others, which makes it hard to stay and be a caregiver. Still, it's something that can be worked out.
Its different for everyone. To me, the only total deal breaker is abuse of me or my children. Cheating, drugs, and money problems can all be dealt with if you are truly committed. Abusers don't change. Child abusers should be burned at the stake.
One party not wanting children when the other does is one of the biggest deal breakers I know of.

    Cheating.

    Financial irresponsibility.
I got married for the second time after ten years being a single mom.Four months after the wedding,he pushed me out of the car.THAT was MY deal breaker.
Cheating! if you arent happy then GTFO!! Go be single and whore around imo..

What would the world be like if more people had relationships and no marriage?

I don't see the point of marriage. Marriage is a trap and breakdown as far as I'm concerned.

But according to God's rule, to have a good relationship it must be in marriage.

Why? Can't a relationship workout without marriage? Wait, love doesn't even exist. What would the world be like if more people had relationships and no marriage?
Many people have different beliefs, and some people don't believe in marriage while others do. No one's going to tell you to get married or stop you, it's your choice. But nowadays there's more divorces than anything because people are marrying the wrong people. If you do choose to get married, at least make sure it's the right person before you plunge into it.

People are more scared of marriage, because after it's said and done, their money gets taken by the other person a lot of times. So you have to think about putting your stuff in a separate bank account so that if anything happens, you can move on and not get jacked. What would the world be like if more people had relationships and no marriage?
The world would be a mess! Who would be around to teach the children? The children would not be well rounded and well educated from worrying about their parents; lack of finances; single parent not available; etc. Serious problems such as these would exist all because people selfishly lack the ability to commit. There would also be lots more serious sexual diseases, and a lot more single lonely people as the population ages. A relationship can exist without marriage, but a lack of commitment usually doesn't last, and leaves neither partner entitlement under man's law. Marriage is man's law too. God's law has to do with honesty, integrity, commitment - and there is love. Then you know what? The children would learn from this and commit to a marriage!
It's not just about gods rule, its about family. and it is easier to raise a family together. Commiting to marriage means you are commiting to family. It is not an easy road and far too many people give up because they feel that the grass is greener on the other side. A relationship can work without marriage, but be open minded, you may fall in love and want to be married. Don't judge those that choose to marry for all the right reasons.
Love doesn't exist? Wow , what is it that I feel for my wife ? You must be young , you're being philosophical not logical .

But marriage is a choice . I couldn't care less if people want to be married or keep their relationships in the single realm .

The world would keep on spinning . People would keep on mating . And yes , people would keep falling in love . Marriage is for those us us that want it .

It would be really stupid to live 40 years or more, not being married and your ';spouse'; dies and you get nothing because their kids take it all. (Home, car, ins. $, whatever)

Marriage to some is more than just a piece of paper, or relationship as you call it, it's COMMITMENT, or rather its supposed to be.

    Nahh

A relationship isn't written in stone...it's easy to break up to make up

But a marriage is that lifetime step...no more phony childish games...it's the real deal

A relationship can work for so long w/o marriage...but i mean i wouldn't wanna be a gf for life...

I think there would be a lot of shacking up, children out of wedlock, and an even bigger spread of STDs...not to mention the slew of broken hearts and anger stemming from it ((this is w/o marriage))
There will be complete social disorder

Is it normal to be in marriage with more than 1 wife? Isnt it same with marring with more than 1 husband?

I am not sure any women would agree to share her life with other woman/women. Would a man accept another husband to his wife? Thats real tragedy. Is it normal to be in marriage with more than 1 wife? Isnt it same with marring with more than 1 husband?
Some people can perhaps make peace with anything in life - why do Mormons marry so many times and their wives live such happy lioves together? similarly some muslims marry twice or thrice and it is possible the wives live happily together. In every situation people make compromises and bargains. I suppose to one woman a comfotable and good life can seem a good enough bargain to accept another woman in her husband's life? I cannot hope to understand this mentality but these girls are brought up to think this as normal and hence they dont question it.

There are cultures where women marry several times - however they are dimisnishing. i guess the patriarchial nature of the world is making that less and less acceptable. But that is also equally weird to my mind.

However let me leave you with one thought: Is monogamy normal? Or just popular (- and not really very popular at that!)? Is it normal to agree to live your life with one person all your life? If it is why do so many people stray out of marriage and why do so many people fall out of love with their spouses and divorce? Is that unnatural?

and even when you stay with one wife/husband would you put your hand on your heart and say you were NEVER attracted to anyone else? how many monogamous marriages stay together just bcos it is too inconvenient to break them up? Maybe marrying multiple times is better and perhaps more honest than staying together just for the heck of it.

EDIT: I fully agree with you. But in most countries more than one marriages for men or women are illegal.

But with Islam it is a religious issue and I really dont want to get into whats right and wrong with a religion. Bcos the issues involved are 1000 year old - and there were reasons why 4 wives was the reasonable option then... and there can be a debate that if the Quranic diktats are followed strictly can anyone have more than one wife or not.Is it normal to be in marriage with more than 1 wife? Isnt it same with marring with more than 1 husband?
Well, I asked the same question before, and I got a good answer.

Well, if there was a woman that had more than 1 husband, and if she had kids, then the kids would be confused of who would be their father. I didn't understand what it meant at first, but now I do. Plus, when a man has more than one wife, he has to treat them ALL equally. He can't give one wife a mansion, and then one wife an apartment. So most men prefer not to have more than one wife because it's hard to treat them all equally, and give them the same amount of clothing, jewlery, etc. You get me? There's more reasons, but you wouldn't understand. . .so that's all I will tell you. Plus, I don't feel like going through all of that. It's hard to explain. I hope you understand.
ha! these sort of questions are asked weekly here in Saudi forum

NO the men here dont all go about marrying more than 1 wife..

Yes, Islam allows for this.. but there are strict, extremely strict rules governing this and most men cannot fulfil those rules, so therefore, majority only marry one.. Its rare, extremely rare to find a polygamous marriage anymore here.. The west likes to play up on this and makes it out like every Saudi household is a dual marriage thing.. NO.. its not.

There are also religious reasons behind this rule.. one obvious one, is that in this world there are 4 women to every man ratio.. So if every single man were to marry, thered be 3 women left that wouldnt even have a chance.. This doenst count, gay men or other situations where men cannot marry.. So the count could be higher against women..

Also traditionally when men went off to war, and were killed, widows were left with many children and no means of support.. It was a kind gesture to marry these women into other homes and provide for them and their children..

in other situations. Men (we all know this) are highly sexually charged more so than women.. you cannot deny this. If for some reason he just cannot be satisfied with one, he is allowed to marry another.. This is by far better than lets say a western man who just goes out and has an affair behind his wifes back and ends up with all sorts of problems and illigitament children now in this world.. what happens to the other women and the children that resulted from that affair?.. Well in Islam she is taken care of, she is legally married..

Also Islam demands that the husband take care equally between these wives. Every wife has exact same treatment, financially. Can most men provide two homes, and the same finances to two upkeeps? probably not.

In the Quran our holy book.. God says.. you men are allowed to marry up to 4 (means up to, not absolute) and if you cannot treat them equal which assuradely you cannot, then only take one..

right there, God says to only take one.. the only holy book that actually says Only one!.. it doesnt say this in the bible.. God knows whats in mens minds and knows they cannot handle more than one, so he says to only take one..
No, its not really normal. atleast not in the USA. Its illegal here to have more than 1 wife or husband. I dont see why you would want more than one if you understand what it is too be in love.
You can not be married to more than one person.
yuck! i cant even think of another man in my life.

for me its..............one life, one luv %26amp; the same should b the life partner.

Would you like to see gay marriage legal in Nevada?

What would you think the outcome would be like?

    Positive? Negative?

I would totally be for it.Would you like to see gay marriage legal in Nevada?
Hey, if prostitution is legal there, why NOT gay marriage?

Could you imagine all the gay Elvis wedding chapels though? *cringe* scary. Gay Elvis's.Would you like to see gay marriage legal in Nevada?
Gay marriage shouldn't be legal ANYWHERE.

    The American people agree.

31 states have protection from this. NO state in which the citizenry vote on the issue allow this. Only two states in which the rogue judiciary has created it practice this abomination.

You're in the minority on this.
Everything else is legal in Nevada, well almost. Why not; they could become trendsetters. Like everyone who thought Maine was like totally nude and liberal to gay this should not be discouragement.
Yeah, it doesn't bother me or affect me in any way.

What does bother me is that when human beings are denied their rights because of their sexual preference. It pisses me off.
I think gay marriage should be legalized everywhere.
I don't live in Nevada, but I think gay marriage should be legal everywhere. So yes!
I would like to see the Christians stay the heII out of my bedroom so I can marry who ever I want were ever I want when ever I want. Why are they so obsessed with our lives, Jealous?

  • What is your opinion on gay marriage?

I won't tell you my opinion i don't want you to change your answer because of what I might say. I just want to hear your view on this subject. I'm trying to take as many peoples views on this as I can. I am conducting a survey to see how people fell on the inside. Tell me how you REALLY fell NO lying! What is your opinion on gay marriage?
Even though I'm straight, I honestly believe that same-sex marriage is okay as long as nobody forces it on me... like religion. I think the government has no business whatsoever in your bedroom. Who you love is not something that the government should be controlling. If you don't like individuals that are homosexual, just don't think about them! It's that simple. No one has the right to keep you from loving someone, even if they are of the same sex. I think same-sex marriage should be widely accepted as something natural, not a disease.

The funny thing is, we've done this before. We the people have discriminated against a certain ';kind'; of people, the blacks. It's ironic how we as a generation look down upon those who are racist... yet many of us think that homosexuality is a disease and should be stopped? The next generation or the one after that will laugh at us and look down upon us for thinking that homosexuality is a taboo. What is your opinion on gay marriage?
I am against it. I don't base this reasoning on any religious beliefs (I'm agnostic) but on the fact that in our society and as far as I know every other society (Eastern, African, etc) marriage has been between a man and a woman. For thousands of years its been like this, despite social changes and so on.

But now that the social/political scene is all for gay rights it must be changed... what of tradition? No, I say preserve tradition and our way of life, don't sacrifice it for today's political agenda. Also I don't want to have to always ask someone I see with a ring on their finger if they are married to a man or woman. This should be automatically obvious.
its a fundamental right....well not anymore since yes on 8 won. but i voted no on 8 because everyone has the right to do whatever they like as long as their not disturbing others. gay people should be treated equally there isn't anything wrong with them. the bible says gay people cant get married but there are many other things the bible says and people take it as if it were something negligible except gay marriage.they weren't going to teach marriage in schools because i doubt there is something about marriage in the teachers' curriculum. and so what if they did, kids are going to learn about it soon and its not gong to make them gay its going to teach them that its ok to be gay and just be yourself. all this so there isn't any excluding and discrimination. because people should realize that telling gay people they cant be married, is elimination of fundamental rights, excluding them from something beautiful everyone should be able to have, and most of all, its discrimination. bottom line, its just wrong.
i think gay marriage shouldn't be banned! thats so mean! i think gays should have the right to get married! i hate homophobes! one of my good friends came to school crying the other day because of prop 8 was yes! she was planning on to get married to her gf when they graduate!

they stoped gay marriage but they cant stop the love between two people of the same sex!

no matter if you are gay, straight,or bi at least you are in love and thats all that matters! thats how i see it...
Honestly, I think someone telling me that I can't marry a girl because I'm a girl is the most horrible thing ever. Eff that crap. GOD LOVES ME. I'm a good Catholic girl. I'm not a bad person. And because I finally find happiness with another woman, and want to share the wedding I've always wanted since I was a child, and told I'm can't? Pfft, nuh uh. No way. Best believe I'd raise Hell if I could. That's like saying ';Hey, your skin is black.. so you can't marry that white girl.'; Or, ';Aw, sorry, even though you believe in God and have been a decent human being, you can't spend your life legally with this person because he's handicapped.'; Nope, if I were Jesus, I'd kill everyone on Earth and start over. I'd be so disappointed in humanity for making such rules just cause some people are homophobes.
gays/lesbians should have all the rights that straight people do

all the people that voted for prop 8 are just stupid people that think life is all about the bible

i mean the bible says marriage should be between a man and a women but it also says dont discriminate

    ever think about that?
Their sin to live with, %26amp; it's not my business. It's a free country they should be able to get married. I believe it's a sin, but I don't feel our government has the right to step in and say who we can love.
I'm not for it, it is abnormal for two people of the same sex to marry. Marriage is between a man and woman. PERIOD.
i really don't care. if they want to get married, what makes people think they can stop them? if they do get married, is it going to make our lives worse? nope, so let them
It's gay and it's illegal in most states. America(along with the rest of the world) is not yet ready for it, I guess.
I think all men except me should be gay.

Then I'd be so popular with all straight women.

Maybe not,,,ive already got my work cut out looking after the women that are available now !.

If you love someone then go for it. Regardless of their gender.
i dont rele have an opinion on it

i say they should be happy........like anyone else should be

not like married couples are generally happy after a couple or so years
    Gay marriage is an abomination.
If any two people have the desire to be married, that's their business. Why should straight people be the only ones making each other's lives miserable?
i think gays should be able to get married.

im bi, so i support them. banning gay marriage is so mean! i can care less what people think! at least where im from its not banned. homophobes can kiss me a**!
i don't care. seriously, i don't have any feeling towards it.
If gay couples want to be as miserable as straight couples I say let them. Who am I to say they can't?
I could care less if gay people want to get married. They're not bothering me or anybody else.
k...this is what think of gay marriage...I think they won't be able to make babies
I support it 100% because It's legal in Canada. And gays can get divorced now when there married.
I think its fine.If you love someone the same gender there is no reason why you cant be with them.
    against it. its not natural.
Let em do what they want... it's not like it's gonna hurt me.
    It's soooo gay.
love is love. why should the GOVERNMENT hold that against anyone?
    Let 'em.

Teens: What were the reasons you decided to have/not have sex before marriage?

I won't judge anyone. I just want to know the reasoning behind your decision, kinda to see both sides of the situation.Teens: What were the reasons you decided to have/not have sex before marriage?
I';m a 16 year old girl and i'm waiting for marriage, for several reasons.

    1. I'm a Christian and i believe that sex was a gift from God for married couples not to be abused.

    2. The body is the temple of the holy spirit, i have some self respect.

    3. My boyfriend is also waiting, i wouldn't want to be the one to destroy his promise, where's the respect in that?

    4. Virginity is the greatest gift you can give, and i want to give it to my husband on our wedding night, to show how much i love him.

    5. If i found out my husband had lost it to someone else before me i would be heartbroken, because i had waited. So i put myself in his prospective shoes...

    6. The longer you wait, the better it will be. I don't want to ';get it out of the way'; because where's the ';specialness'; in that? I want it to be worth the wait, and it will be.Teens: What were the reasons you decided to have/not have sex before marriage?
Im 16 years I know that I may be too young to have sex but I can't change the past only the future. Yes I have decided to have sex before marriage and I did have sex before marriage. No I was not under peer pressure because nobody knew that I was even sexually active until three months after I let my boyfriend take my virginity. The reasons why I decided to have sex was: (1) I knew that I wanted to lose my virginity by someone whom I really felt like I loved, (2) We actually started planning our wedding, (3) I wanted to know if I would change (as in personality wise) just because of being sexually active, (4) My boyfriend never dumped me after we had sex, and (5) I made him my spiritual husband and I know that he will be my husband spiritually, physically, mentally, and emotionally.
i'm 16... and i have decided not to wait until marriage to have sex

i have quite a few reasons, but here are some of them

    1. i'm not sure i even WANT to get married

    2. i would want to have more then one sexual partner, and i believe that marriage is forever if you do take part in it

    3. yeah your virginity is something special but i don't think that it's that special, as long as your happy with your decision i think you should just have sex whenever

there's more but these are the main ones...
I'm 16 year old and I plan on staying a virgin until I'm married.Because I think my relationship would be more meaningful if you could get to know each other without having sex not to mention std's.And also I think if will show the strength in there relationship and give you something to look forward to.And I'm not ready for a child yet. When you have sex there's no protection that's 100% sure but not to have sex.And marriage would bring the stability you need to have a child.
    I'm 15, almost 16

and it's my preference to wait till marriage, although it's kinda a biased answer, cause I think marriage isn't really necessary to have sex, but you just gotta know that she/he's the one, follow my drift?

I put myself in my partners situation, and I have major selfishness that I can't help but feel, I would want to know my girlfriends had someone else d*ck and had been touched and felt pleasure like that by some other guy, same goes for me though too, I'm just saving myself unpleasant feelings, and whoever gets me in the end would be pretty lucky to know I'd saved myself for him, that special person

there's a lot to explain...but it's super hard to type, it's something to be decribed in person, so sorry for a lame reasoning

edit: oh and I just remembered that I don't think I can handle the thought of being pregnant, it'd just be very stressful and what-not, at the age I'm at, I gotta know I can handle a kid before I have sex

I think of how I'm glad I only went as far as kissing with my ex boyfriend, I had enough self control not to have sex..cause everyone gets that urge, otherwise, I would of def. regreted it, just a thought in the back of my mind
im 14 and im not going to wait because most guys want to do it before marriage and well i have to lose it sometime so i might as well make it worth it- not a one night fling.

but if i were to meet a guy that wanted to wait then i wouldn't care as long as he showed me he cared for me by hugging, kissing, cuddling, maybe taking a shower together(with bathing suits on so we didn't get tempted) but as long as he's worth it then i have absolutely no problem with it.

Edit: i have no intention of having sex any time soon, i think i'll wait till im 16 before i even consider having sex with someone i love.
im 13 and im a virgin and i decided to not have sex till marriage because thats when you know the relationship is not based on sex if hes willing to wait. the relationship is true. also, id be afraid to have sex, fall in love, and then breakup. when your married its like you dont have to worry about them leaving you really. but then again some people dont belive in marriage or some people dont wanna get married. so its really up to them. some people also dont care what the outcome is.
I am fourteen and currently a virgin, but I don't plan to wait until marriage.

I plan to have sex when I am ready and with someone I love, maybe that will be when I am married but I'm not counting on it...To me sex IS a big thing but isn't something you should really wait until marriage for, I honestly do not see the point.

So yea, I will have sex when I am with someone I love, most likely before marriage :).
    I'm 13. I don't plan on waiting until marriage.

    Do you think I'm a sl^t yet?

Anyways, some people say they're going to wait until marriage, so they can save it for someone special, and they know they're not going to dump you right after - news flash. That special someone can divorce you, just because you're married, it's not written that you'll stay together.

They might do it for a religion. I don't have a religion.

It's not like I'm going to have sex the first chance I get, but what difference does it make if your married or in a long committed relationship? Probably just a ring. I'm not dead set against saving myself for marriage, but that would be nice.

I mean, if I feel ready, then I will.
Im 16. And im not a virgin. I never thought of waiting til marriage, but i was not ready. I made a mistake and i regret it but whats done its done. I think that sex is a big deal, you have to ready and completly sure of what you are doing and with whom you are doing it. I was almost 15 when i lost my virginity i knew i was not ready but i thought i was in love and my bf was pressuring me, at the end i gave up. Like i said i regret it. But i dont think is a bad thing to have sex before marriage it all depends on how mature you are. Taking in count that if you are ready to have sex, you should be ready to face whatever comes next.
I'm 15, going on 16 next month. I'm waiting until marriage for multiple reasons:

    1. I don't want to get STDs

    2. I don't want to end up pregnant if the guy isn't going to stick around

    3. I don't think you need to ';test out the car before you buy it'; when it comes to sex. If you love someone, you shouldn't dump them because they don't give you good sex.

    4. I'm Christian
    I'm 16 and I have a purity ring.

I don't want to have sex before marriage because I know I'm supposed to wait and only have sex with my husband. I am a Christian and love my savior Jesus Christ. I think it is the best thing, think about it. If everyone only had sex with their spouse, there would be no STDs.

Also if you do have sex with someone other than your spouse like a boyfriend or w/e, would you want to raise a child with them? Think about it that way and you may rethink having sex.
i'm 16, and i lost my virginity two years ago to a boy that i love, who is my best friend, and i would not have it any other way. i wasn't stupid about it, we used two forms of contraception, got checked out for sexually transmitted infections, and i didn't get knocked up. i respect other people's choice to wait until marriage, but to me, marriage is a piece of paper. i could walk down with a guy friend to the county building right now and get married, but does that mean that we're ready to have sex? no. in my book, sex should come after love and commitment, but that doesn't always mean marriage. and frankly looking at it that way, that marriage MUST mean that you're 100% ready for sex is really black and white.
i respect everyone's opinion on the subject but for me, i'm a virgin but i'm just waiting for the right person, i'm waiting to lose it to somebody i do love, so it's not like i'm gonna be a tramp or something and do it with random people, cause i'm not like that. i'm just not waiting until marriage, you never know if you're gonna end up getting married or not,

    i'm almost 15 :)
I am 13. The reasons that I am not having sex until I am married:

I feel that I'm not old enough to handle the emotional side of sex.

If I get pregnant, then I would like to be financially stable. I am 100000% against abortion, so I would never do that, and I would most likely not put my child up for adoption.

    Hope this helped (:
I'm 14. Lifes short, say good bye to yesterday, %26amp; tomorrow might be too late. I say if you can do something %26amp; live til the next day, just do it. Lifes too short so don't take it seriously, no one makes it out alive anyway. No i am not a skankk, It was with my boyfriend. And on days i have a hook up buddy i might run too every once in a while, or he'll run to me. As long as he was clean, non abusive, and i knew the guy, that's what i looked for. I don't run around screwing everyone though.
In my opinion, it has nothing to do with whether you wait until you're married to have sex or not, as long as you're in love. Just because you're married doesn't necessarily mean you'll be w/ that person forever. %26amp; At 22, 23, etc., when you date around sex usually happens.
i am currently 19 but lost my virginity at 13. i am and was not a slut. i had sex with someone i knew i would love forever. and we got married and had our daughter together. we were both ready most 13 year old arn't but we were and i don't regret it at all.
I'm 16. I'm not waiting until marriage, I've already lost my virginity but only a couple of months ago. I never planned to wait, I'm not religious so I didn't have a reason like that, and I lost it to someone I love.
I'm 15, I'd wait until i was at least engaged to lose my virginity to the one i love becuz i dont want to regret losing it to sum one that may not b that loyal to me.. That's just me tho :)
im 12 yeah young....i think im going to save it for my husband...i think its gross if you just do it with random ppl at parties...if i do it before marriage it will be someone who i truly believe is the love of my life....
Im 16 and im a virgin but i am NOT gonna wait until marriage.

Kissing my boyfriend feels so good i feel tempted to do it with him.

But i am gonna wait until its been at least a year or so.
I don't plan on getting married. But I want to lose it to someone who I trust and where I won't regret it in the future.

    And I'm 15.
I'm 14 and I want to do it with someone I know I love and will stay together with.

Is it true that marriage ceremonies performed in Vegas don't count as real marriages?

What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. Is it true that marriage ceremonies performed in Vegas don't count as real marriages?
Any marriage ceremony performed by a minister with a certificate is legal in all states. What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. Unless you get married or an STD.Is it true that marriage ceremonies performed in Vegas don't count as real marriages?
As long as there is a priest that is legally a priest then they are legal. A friend of mine got married in Las Vegas and i was a witness there. She was only 18 and ran away to marry her boyfriend as her parents didn't approve. They still don't but at 22 they are still married and have a 1 year old son. C x
Yes they are there is no wait time.
    whats yours is mine REMEMBER?!

Do you as a Christan believe marriage or sex is only for procreation?

show me a bible verse for that please if you do, because I would really like to see it.Do you as a Christan believe marriage or sex is only for procreation?
No, that would just be so sad.

There is no such verse.Do you as a Christan believe marriage or sex is only for procreation?
First let's see what God's word the Bible says about God's arrangement for the man and the woman.

Gen 1:28 it says how God blessed them(Adam and Eve) and told them to be fruitful and become many and fill the earth. So sex was positively used to have children.

    Then to show that sex was also to be for pleasure with each other, 1 Cor. 7:2-5 brings out that the ';husband should render to his wife her due(sex) and likewise the wife to her husband. Do not deprive each other of it.';

The important thing to notice from just 2 scriptures is that God gave the gift of having children and having sexual relationships to married couples. How satisfying to please Jehovah God in these matters.
As a Christian, no I don't believe sex is only for procreation and there are no verses to support that to my knowledge. However, I do believe, based on so many Bible verses throughout both the Old and New Testaments, that sex is only for those that are married.
no because why would god not want us to have sex before were married if it was just for procreation plus the faster doomsday happens the closer we get to judgement day thatmeens we'll be able to go to heaven because if you die now you have to wait until everyone on earth has died then judgmentday is hear comment and tell me what you think
no marriage is for love and intimacy and to better understand God's love for us

i m taking that from Ephesians

i do think kids r a big part of it but we r called to have an obligation to our spouse over any other person so its not just kids
No, and there is no such verse. That was made up by pent up preachers long ago.
Nope. But it's still subject to God's laws.
No, it's to bring a husband and wife closer together as well.
    both are for demonstrating love
    No
obviously not since I remarried 3 yrs ago and both my kids are married..
    no

Are women today more obsess with marriage than women in past eras?

I want to know your opinion on the difference between current women' obsession to marriage and other past centuries women's obsessionAre women today more obsess with marriage than women in past eras?
I think that is a very interesting question. Although women nowadays do not need to marry for economic survival, as they often did in past centuries(so did men for that matter), neither is it taken for granted, as it was at the turn of the last century for instance, that a woman would stay single if she wanted to pursue a career. At that time it was assumed that women who devoted themselves to careers were happy being single and leading a celibate life.

Nowadays, however women are supposed to want to 'have it all' i.e. have a career, and be married and raise a family as well. So rather than pursuing a career in peace, now women are meant to get married, have a family,a nd then spend a lot of time moaning about how exhausted they are.

In past centuries, it was assumed that some women would remain single, but nowadays the idea seems to be that ';there is somebody for everybody'; and you must keep looking until you find them. So although women of the present may not be as obsessed with marriage as they were during the peak period of the 1950s, I think they are definitely more obsessed than they were say at the beginning of the 20th century, when being single did seem to at least some women as a desirable option. Are women today more obsess with marriage than women in past eras?
I would argue that women today are more obsessed with marriage due to the degradation in the sanctity of marriage. Consider the growth in the divorce rate over the past 30 years (up to 40% of first marriages end in divorce), and also consider the impact of divorce on children, and also the traditional role of women as the primary caregivers to children. If the primary function of marriage is to have children and create a safe environment, then the lack of security in marriage is a major concern, particularly to women. I think this drives the obsession with an ';ideal marriage.'; However, I wonder if the focus on finding the ideal partner for the ideal marriage creates unrealistic expectations that leads, at least in part, to the continued climb in the divorce rate, and also to the continued increase in the average age at which people get married (holding out for that perfect partner). Basically, self-fulling prophosies.
Cicely Hamilton states that marriage was vital to women previously because it represented their only chance of securing survival - therefore, marriage was women's primary trade.

As women now have other means of survival, they are more likely to marry for love, or not at all, so I would think women are much less obsessed with marriage than they used to be :-)
I think people don't take marriage seriously as they did back in the day. I think marriage has become a joke now. Not to all but most people get married and divorced within 3 to 6 months. Just look at all the Hollywood stars...They get married to someone new once a month. I think marriage should be kept sacred and true. I think women are more obsessed with the wedding dress and the wedding than the actual marriage these days...not all but most. They want to get married just for the sake of getting married and are not wanting to fulfill the promise they have made. Just my opinion....
    Yes and no.

The modern view is a bit more of a recognition that ';this is my personal desire'; whether or not that be the truth. As oppossed to a more previous view of ';this is what it's suppossed to be like';. The obsession is probably on a similar level, arguably the old view is more mature and aware, since many people I seem to deal with don't want to recognize that a lot of who they are is a product of their environment. And then there is the problem with the idea of disposability of choice, but that's an entirely different topic on its own.

But more directly you are dealing with a statistic that is essentially impossible to measure. So honestly speaking, I don't know, and I don't think it's is possible to find out.
Many women no longer care if they marry. They support themselves and know what needs to be taken care of instead of depending on a mate that drops the ball. They have children and care for them alone without a husband. Liberal sexuality has led to no stigma attached to it, so---women have chosen to do what men have done for centuries.
No. More and more women are staying single. In the past, if you didn't find a husband, you were a social burden, since women weren't allowed to pursue a career. Now women no longer need men for financial security. That being said, women recently have been more and more obsessed with WEDDINGS than before. It's sort of a trend, what with all the TV shows about it and everything. But it will come and go. Mark my words, in 20 years, people will be having small, simple affairs, and will consider it tacky to throw a big expensive wedding.
Not planning on marrying again. Been there, done that, paid for the divorce and lost a lot of cash getting out of it. Haven't seriously considered marriage for over 20 years..so I'd say I'm not obsessing about it a bit.

The only people who worry about never marrying around me are middle-aged men. The women say, that's it, done it once or twice, and don't want to do it again. They don't hate men, they're happy with their lives and don't need a man to be happy. Women have lots of things to make their lives happy, I'm sorry, but quite a few older women don't need men like the older men seem to need women. I'm crazy about my guy, but then again, I'm not married. lol
i think women in the past were more marriage obsessed. women today have more options for the future than just finding a husband.
Hells no. For the first time in history, single women outnumber married women in the U.S. Marriage is no longer the hallmark of a woman's success.
women today hate the thought of marraige and want to have as much freedom as men. in the olden days though women were obsessed about marriage.
I believe is because that in past eras they didn't have much of a choice. Their families where the ones that decided when and with who she would marry.
in the past marrying a good man was all a woman had....he was her life future and it all depended upon him.

women of today make there own future...women are by far less obsessed.
    I would say considerably less.
I don't think they are ,one of my sons long time girlfriends refuses to get married or have kids.
i dont know was never bothered. i thought there was less pressure to get married now.
No. But I would say they're more obsessed with weddings.
  • purple makeup
  • What do people say this about marriage and sex?

Everyone says that after marriage sex stops, things get boring, everything sounds like it goes down the drain. Why? Whats the differences? What Happens? I see no difference in being married and not being married other than papers. So please tell me what happens??What do people say this about marriage and sex?
Everyone isn't me. I've been married to the same woman for 12 years. The sex just gets better for us. Of course, we are deeply in love.

The problem with most people is exactly what you said - no difference other than papers. If its just a legal arrangement for you, the sex will fade and chances are you will become a statistic. You have to love each other and treat each other like your stupid kids in love through out your marriage. That's our trick. Most people get busy with their lives and forget why they fell in love. They put their jobs first, their social lives first, etc. What do people say this about marriage and sex?
I think that its mostly that you know that you can have that person any time you want so why have to do it all the time. I guess most people just get tired of the normal routine everyday that they just seem to get better at sex after doing it once a month or twice every 6 months or only on anniversaries. It amazes me how once you get married your sex life starts to go from firey so really boring and old fashioned.
I was abstinate until marriage..so therefore, sex started when I got married..unlike most. But I have heard this as well. I think it is because people get busy, the flirting and trying to impress each other and funny feeling in your tummy goes away...and you don't feel like being all over each other much. It depends on the couple, their personalities, their views of sex, and everything of the sort. My husband and I spent every day together before marriage so the only big difference for us is that we can have sex since we didn't before. We get along amazingly, share everything (not just physical possessions, but stories, anything important to us, time together, etc) and we make sure to take time out of busy schedules to have date nights. As long as you don't let your work/college/kids take over your personal life with your husband or wife, then you will be fine. A lot of people say sex stops after kids because you are too busy with them. Just make sure to take time, at least a day a week, to spend at least a few hours together besides when you are tired and go to bed and just want to sleep, and you will build a stronger marriage than most people.
No need for it to stop. You will get bored if you ate the same chocolate every day too. Variety is the name of the game. Try different positions, different places, different outfits. PLAN to have fun. Don't let everyday life get in the way.

Make your partner the most special thing in your life - yes, above your children (don't leave them wanting, but remember they are a result of your love together - AND they will leave you). Play your card right, and your partner will be with you for ever.

Angelhaiku says that women are tired after a full day's work and then having to do HIS laundry (putting clothes in the washer which does all the work and dries it in many cases) and HIS dishes (putting dishes in dishwasher which does all the work).... Well gee, I guess HE comes home from work - perhaps a more manual work than hers (read ';physically tired';) - and has to take out HER trash, mow HER half of the grass.......

That attitude is why the sex stops and divorces increase.

In our marriage we both do things for US.
Kids, busy work schedules, blending of families and bills happen...that's what happens! lol

If you have all of the above, and you two still have a dynamite sex life, you need to bottle your secret up and sell it to the rest of us!

Seriously, marriage is continuous...HARD...WORK. Did I mention continuous? As in on-going, never-ending. **sighs** True, a piece of paper, coupled with tax breaks from the government, is pretty much all that separates married from single, there's something about the state of marriage, that either a) relaxes one to the point of not giving a hoot, that they get real comfortable and feel like, ';Hey, we're married now...that stuff we did when we dated is so unnecessary'; or b) makes them step up their game and keep things alive (in the boudoir and everywhere else)

It just depends on the couple's commitment level. Also, youth plays a teeny part too. Long story short, YOUR marriage is what you make it. Forget all the stuff you hear...except of course, what I just typed! lol
I don't know about everyone, but the sex just kept getting better between me and my late husband. He passed away last month. We had a very loving and lustful relationship. It changed a bit after the children came, but was always passionate and it was a little less often but it was still great. Kids are mood killers, but they are also awesome little reminders of the love we shared.
well it's definitely not the case in my marriage. Our sex life is still at full throttle.

I'm guessing this is because the woman now has a house to keep clean, do HIS laundry, clean up HIS dishes, and if she has children, that's a whole bigger responsibility.

After working all day and bedtime comes and she's totally exhausted.. the last thing on her mind is pleasing her man. I know from experience.

These guys should try to do all the things that their wife does in a day, then have the wife beg them to have sex. hah!

    -Laura
the sex doesn't stop. i have been married for almost 10 years and we still have sex. it does slow down some after children though. also, depending on how strong the love for one another is, you do start to get bored with the same old same old. but if you truly love each other you may never get bored.
What happens is (some) people get comfortable. What they did to get their spouse they stop doing it because they feel they have their spouse. The same things you did to get your spouse is the same thing you do to keep them.
    Lol EVERYONE IS THE ECONOMY

THEY MAKE THIS BULL SHI* UP

    lol ok Not me

ii have sex with my hubby liek basicly EVERDAY

the time we dont do it is when we get sore

    MMM

    hhehehehe

    Dont lissing to idiots

    EVERYONE is DIFFRENT
gets to be boring. Why? Because you take out the fun and adventure.
Not me... I have more sex now married then when I was single
when a woman gets married she no longer needs give you sex in order to have your money. Now what is yours is also of hers. Very unfairly.

If you decided to divorce her, there would be even more money for her.

What is the medias view on marriage?

In today's society, what does the media portray onto the minds of the young about marriage? Does it portray anything at all? What is the medias view on marriage?
Let's see, the media gloifies divorce, applauds promiscuity, encourages lying, cheating and disrespecting your partner. There is no room for love, honour and trust. I mean, that is so boring compared to drama, drama, drama! What is the medias view on marriage?
i believe the media conveys that marriage is something easily left behind. Meaning if you do not like the way it is going just get a divorce.

I wish they would try and make it more realistic rather than pretend.
Mostly the media thrives on drama so they like to exaggerate and make marriage look like a movie, unrealistic so when people get married they don't know what to expect or do so they get divorced.
Well...Either way people and media doesn't look to great on it. Which is kinda understandable in a way and then yet it really isn't. If your in love...why not marry? young..or older.
It's for two or more queers, but never a man and a woman.

What is the important thing in marriage life money or good husband?

A good wife is important. What is the important thing in marriage life money or good husband?
A good husband You could have all the money in the world and have a real jerk for a husband and be miserable! What is the important thing in marriage life money or good husband?
A good husband--you could be broke and still have a wonderful life with your husband or significant other. Money make seem like the ligical answer, but you could have all the money in the world and still have an crummy marriage. Money is not everything--sure you can buy a lot of stuff, and it may seem like you can buy happiness, but it may be a short term happiness.
Your happiness is more important than all of the above.
i have been married for 12 years. i was happier when i was bringing home 800 a month. My wife and i bring home 80,000 a year now. it's not the money that has caused the problem, but what you have to do to get it. you have to give your time up to make the money. you have to have the money to go out and have fun. dating shouldn't end after marriage. in order to go out on a date with my wife (every friday) i have to demand that i get off work at six, pay a babysitter, take two cars sometimes to meet her, get home early cause she has to get up at 2:30 in the morning to go to work. but here's some help- The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman
    Both are equally important.

If you had a lot of money and a bad husband could you be happy?

And if you had a good husband and no money at all (and full of debts) could you be happy?

    I don't think so.

So you need too have at least some money and a fair husband and you could manage it!!
    husband
    i agree whit shari.

happyness is more important than anything else but you can be happy if you have a good husband. and if you only have a money but not good husband you connot be happy.

so good husband is more important
Both are important, as each can't function well without the other. For a marriage to be meaningful, there must be an expression of love which could come in the form of gifts, wonderful launch or dinner in a beautiful hotel etc. In that same vein, it's meaningless if you have money, without having some love with a man you could call your husband.
with a good husband u cn regain n earn more money n Life, n vice versa, wth all the money in the world u cn lose thm if u hv a wayward husband....any time go fr a Good husband
Not to sound shallow but having money makes a good marriage, allows you to be a good spouse and all of that creates happiness. Most all first year fights are about money, or lack of that is. I love my husband more than anything but it's hard to be happy when you are so stressed over bills.
