If a gay couple gets married where its legal, is the marriage still valid once they go home?

Like if a gay couple from the USA (both USA citizens) goes to Canada to get married, when they go back to the USA is the marriage still valid? Or would at least one partner have to be a citizen of the country where gay marriage is legal?

(the countries are just examples, I dont know if it's different for different countries)If a gay couple gets married where its legal, is the marriage still valid once they go home?
The marriage would only be valid in the few states that recognize gay marriage. It would not be recognized anywhere else. The marriage would not be recognized by the Federal government either. If a gay couple gets married where its legal, is the marriage still valid once they go home?
i believe that one the members still need to obtain a partnership thingy when they are in the US...otherwise i dont think the US will acknowledge their marriage. people all the time go across the border to tie the knot but they always have a partner thing in the US... i dont know whats it's calledddd! :[[[[
not in texas and other states like that, they dont recognize gay marriage from other states. as for the diffrent citizenships im not sure. and I THINk that if you get married in CA the united states has to accept you as a legitmate married couple. but im not 100% positive on that
The bottom line is it depends, some countries recognise and some will refuse. Eg, if you went to England they might, but if you went to Saudi Arabia forget it.
i was wondering the same thing myself. I think once u get that marriage certificate..its good no matter what state u live n. I know that Ellen Degeneros and her partner went to Navada to get married then bk 2 calif...so must b
Depends on the state.

New York for example recognizes foreign same-sex marriages. Texas does not.
Saudi Arabia is disgusting and medieval.
I know that if you go to canada and come to New york it is recognized.
Yes, didn't you ever see I Now Pronounce You Chuck %26amp; Larry?
