Is it true the marriage based green card takes 6-15 months?

The USCIS indicated the length of the waiting period is about 7.3 months. I have been waiting for 9 months.

I can understand there is a backlog, and every application goes to the Chicago lock box and it depends on how many applied from which state you are from....

I would like to know if its true the length processing time is from 6 to 15 months? Is it true the marriage based green card takes 6-15 months?
Yes, the process can range from 6 months - 2 years. It depends on many factors like if you are stuck in name check, there is backlog at the USCIS local Office where your papers is processed or you lack some documents in your application. You can create a Customer Portfolio Account at the USCIS website using your case number so you will be updated about your application.

My husband is Canadian. We were married here in the U.S. in November of 2007. He received his green card at the end of July 2007. It was eight months almost to the day. We live in Los Angeles, CA. I don't know if that really makes a difference, though.

Have you tried tracing the progress of your card on the USCIS website? You might want to check just to make sure there's not a foul-up somewhere along the line.
A lot will depend on the country you come from ...or even if you have a very common name
