The practical advantages are too many to list, and are only peripheral consequences. We ought not legalize it for its practical benefits; rather we should legalize it for it equity.





It is inequitable in law that one person is allowed to do a thing, while another is prevented from it, when the inequities stem from religious dogma. There are no reasons of practicality to cause us to keep to the status quo. However, there are religious dogmatic reasons for doing so.





Separation of church and state demands the equity of gay people to straight people.What advantages would legalizing gay marriage do?
Legalizing gay marriage would reduce the population in over populating countries..





It would also contribute to the reduction of uproars by the gay population as well as give them their rights of speech... as promised by many countries...





Legalising gay marriage could also be seen as a way to increase the economic growth in a country... people who need to have weddings... need to use money and it in a way would increase revenues in wedding based companies... and this would lead them to pay more taxes and the government would be richer... marriage licences too will add to the governments revenues...





Legalising gay marriage would also reduce the controversies caused people going on hunger strikes and other similar situations...

Legalizing gay marriage would give gay partners rights that they currently so not have. The right of reporting on a tax form as married like straight people do. The right of visiting your partner in the hospital as a family member. The right to decide what is best for them when they are not in a position to do that themselves. ie. If they didn't have a DNR order, whether or not to try to resuscitate them.
It would be another step by society toward ultimate freedom. However freedom is not dictated by an elect group who proposes to take charge when the people ask for someone to tell them what to do. In fact there is nothing really happening here but conceptual thought clashing with other conceptual thought. Eventually all these idea's everywhere will cancel each other out. Maybe in 1,000,000 years, maybe in 1 year or maybe we will kill ourselves before we can attain the great truth about who and what we really are..
To lessen the lies of humanity, and to have more freedom of being one's real self by nature. Not much suppression of reality anymore.


There will be more peace and proper order in the society if everyone will be accepted for what they really are.
Legalizing gay marriage would give two consenting adults the freedom and right to be recognized by their government as a couple, and be treated like one by said government. No harm, no foul.
It wouldn't improve anything, and wouldn't take anything away from the current world.
